$315 is looking pretty good after my dealer price of $459.99. I don't know anything about these gagets so I let the dealer have my wallet. It works, cranks right up and goes like a batt so I am happy. But I am interested in what you get with the SERT. When I left the dealer, I got a carboard box with the SERT and verbal instructions not to loose it as it will be needed for any additional programs or computer tunes. I did not get any cables or CD's or instruction book.
You can also ask your dealer parts guy to do a parts locator on HDnet to provide phone numbers for HD dealers with older versions of the SERT and print-out the info. The critical part in the SERT is the "dongle" or "key" that allows the PC/laptop software to communicate with the ECM on your bike.
I did it this way and bought an older version of SERT for $320 (shipping included)from a NC dealer--kit included the cables. Since I have an '04 EG, the older version of SERT was fine--didn't need the newer maps for the 96" motor that come with the newer versions. In any event, you can buy the latest software for ~$20.
The dongle or key should be in a brown, lightweight cardboard type box with orange seals unbroken. IIRC, the part number is 320114-01A. Whether you buy on ebay or by phone, confirm that the dongle/key is in a sealed box--if it's been used on another bike it won't work on yours.

They apparently kept the CD. You need to get it since it does come with the SERT. The CD has the instructions, the SERT program and a bunch of canned maps. Without the CD contents, you can't re-map the bike, unless you take it back to the dealer. The dongle is the software key, but without the program (on the CD) it don't do much for you.
Also demand an electronic copy of the map they made for you. It's yours, you paid for it, and if anything happens to the ECU you'll need to reload it again.
