Biketoberfest

How was biketoberfest? Did not get to go. Was the crow on main lighter? Was there much at the harley store on beach st.? Was it any better traffic wise at HARLEY World on 95?

it seemed to me like the crowd was lighter than last year (and last year was lighter than the year before). Main St seemed to be hoppin, although several of the stores (like JP Cycles and Corbin) were empty. not much happening onBeach St,vendors were fewer at Daytona HD. Speedway had lots of vendors, maybe more than last year, but at least as many. Lots going on out at Dest Daytona, but it's really 'commercialized' out there. Iron Horse/Boot Hill in Ormond were poppin like usual. For me, saturday night we found the setup across the street from Rossmeyer's, and had a blast. Some good music, some ***** and fun...

I have been to Biketoberfest for the last 7 years running, but this may be my last... everything is looking the same to me now... I mean how many $49 chap vendors can you look at in 3 days. The best part for me has always been the demo rides... I'll ride anything anywhere that I can get my hands on, just for fun. We got to test ride a CanAm Spyder, which was a blast. Got to try the new HD with throttle by wire, but wasn't too impressed. at least the bike I rode had a hesitation that was annoying... maybe some tweaking could fix that I dunno.

The bad news is I started drooling over 2 bobbers from 2 builders... trying to see what I can sell now to finance getting one or the other !

we did get to work in a couple day ride down to Key West before Biketoberfest, had a great time there too thanks to many suggestions for stuff to do from people here... we did the Duval crawl, at least I think we did...lol.

I enhoy yhe demo rides also . Could tell any difference in the engine noise from 07? People keep talking about the ids and what a difference it makes.How can this take away the rocks in a can sound? I just keep rpm up and no noise. Harley has best setup on demo rides. I have tried 3 times to ride a goldwing. There may be 30 setting there and they say booked for today. Always enjoyed wet t at dirty harry. I supose motels still try to rob you?

Spent Saturday on Main St. making the rounds. Great time; hot babes, cold beer....Hit Epcot the day before for the Food & Wine (beer) Fest. "Around the World in 80 Beers", I dubbed it!

Weather was perfect on Saturday for the event. Heading back for BW '08 in March...
