I know I'm going to get an earful here, after all this is a harley fourm, but remember thats why I'm here. New to riding the last 5 years after a 20 year life brake. LOL. and it turns out the type of riding I do a touring bike suits my riding style better. But don't want a full blown dresser, hence street glide comes in, hard bags, fairing, radio........ best of both worlds, still have some bling and thehot rod look. I've been hanging around the last few months and have the pipes, seat, bag extensions already picked out and other mods to customize it to make it mine. Planning to purchase in the beginning of the year,( I get all my overtime paid in one check at the end of the year) I currently have a 2004 victory kingpin. My buddy made the plunge and bought an 07 leftover streetglide. I got a chance to ride it and I wasn't impressed. I'm trying to keep an open mind, and tell myself that a lot of it I will get use to just used to my bike, but.................. some issues that I have
1. The floorboards, my size 8 boot won't stay on, couldn't believe how narrow they where, let alone be able to move my foot around.
2. The brakes, the first stop sign scared the hell out of me I didn't think I was going to stop, I really had to grab a handful. Hope the brembo on the 08 are better. Brembo's are on the victory.
3. the first stop sign I almost broke my wifes foot. Her foot is on my calf so she will have to move her foot evertime I stop.
4. the 92cu vic motor will run circles around the harley96. Already proven. both have stage one pipes and a/c.
5. Suspension is a little firm, but may not be not a bad thing only on the bike for an hour.
6. My foot doesn't fit under the shifter have to use the heel shifter, looks like that is adjustable.
everything can be changed to suit me thats half the fun, but the motor is big bucks, and the postion of the footpegs your stuck.
I don't intend this to be a rant or bash I'm here because the parts are available to customize it the way I want, vic aftermarket is terrible.
so my questions are......... Anybody have any suggestions with thepassenger footpegs, never heard a complaint on that but I can't be the only one.
The added inch suspension on the EC make that big adifference? I'm talking about alot of money to get the bike the way I want it, is it worth it? A lot of money just to bring it up to victory standards that I'm use to. Why??? Trying to talk myself into it but I shouldn't have to do that of settle for something. HELP..........

Er uh compared to what footpegs? LOL!!! My size 10.5 fits...
2. The brakes, the first stop sign scared the hell out of me I didn't think I was going to stop, I really had to grab a handful. Hope the brembo on the 08 are better. Brembo's are on the victory.
Lets get something straight, this is not the bike cycle world or motorcyclist would list as the number one sport tourer... you may be barking up the wrong tree.. That being said they will stop fine if you pull that lever thing on the the handle bar... LOL!!
3. the first stop sign I almost broke my wifes foot. Her foot is on my calf so she will have to move her foot evertime I stop.
Why you bringing her? Its hard to pick up chicks with your wife around "bro"
4. the 92cu vic motor will run circles around the harley96. Already proven. both have stage one pipes and a/c.
Well you could put the 92cu vic motor in your new Street Glide?
5. Suspension is a little firm, but may not be not a bad thing only on the bike for an hour.
Last time I checked rear shocks are still air, the front you could change the spring or fluid to adjust damping rates but again your not buying a BEEMER
6. My foot doesn't fit under the shifter have to use the heel shifter, looks like that is adjustable.

They dont have no stinking footpegs... Your floor boards are adjustable and so are dashifter pegs. As for the motor, it will run if you want it to and like I have said before ITS ABOUT PRIORITIES. So many cry poverty but own every toy known to man. 55000 caddy, 600,000 house 100,000 a year trophy wife etc etc... do you wanna be a biker on a Harley or a poverty strickin cry baby.I laugh when I hear fools say I can't afford aHarley. But they can afford a 46k Tahoe, 5.25 coronas and 400 dollatattoos... IF YOU REALLY WANTED A HARLEY YOU'D BUY ONE...
I don't intend this to be a rant or bash I'm here because the parts are available to customize it the way I want, vic aftermarket is terrible.
BULLSHI&, of course you did.If you wanna Victory, you dont need our permission. Its totally cool with us. You cant compare a glide with a Vision, a Goldwing, a
beemer...
so my q

Forums for enteraining purposes only. If you have a problem or question, its just like the stealership......... nothing. been a member a few months before I bought the street glide, bought the street glide, ask questions about wheel upgrades........ no answer.......... nothing. 2 out of three post no replies.( I stopped trying at 3 post) So if I can't find the answer by searching I move on to another site don't dare ask a question. I can take the hint. Should I stay and be a heckler, or just move on!
