streetglide problems?
1. The floorboards, my size 8 boot won't stay on, couldn't believe how narrow they where, let alone be able to move my foot around.
2. The brakes, the first stop sign scared the hell out of me I didn't think I was going to stop, I really had to grab a handful. Hope the brembo on the 08 are better. Brembo's are on the victory.
3. the first stop sign I almost broke my wifes foot. Her foot is on my calf so she will have to move her foot evertime I stop.
4. the 92cu vic motor will run circles around the harley96. Already proven. both have stage one pipes and a/c.
5. Suspension is a little firm, but may not be not a bad thing only on the bike for an hour.
6. My foot doesn't fit under the shifter have to use the heel shifter, looks like that is adjustable.
everything can be changed to suit me thats half the fun, but the motor is big bucks, and the postion of the footpegs your stuck.
I don't intend this to be a rant or bash I'm here because the parts are available to customize it the way I want, vic aftermarket is terrible.
so my questions are......... Anybody have any suggestions with thepassenger footpegs, never heard a complaint on that but I can't be the only one.
The added inch suspension on the EC make that big adifference? I'm talking about alot of money to get the bike the way I want it, is it worth it? A lot of money just to bring it up to victory standards that I'm use to. Why??? Trying to talk myself into it but I shouldn't have to do that of settle for something. HELP..........
Your issues:
1. Size 8..you shouldn't have any problems keeping feet on boards..get a few miles and see if you adjust.
2. The brakes should stop easily...lever pressure is different than your vic.
3. Passenger floorboards..
4. 96 can run strong with a little tweaking.
5. You can adjust shifter peg up very easily.
You might want to rent a coupla different HD's and see what you like.

Welcome. Not being a smartazz but you should probably buy the Victory. I have owned metric bikes (I know Victory is US made) and they were great, trouble free bikes that got me where I was going. Owning a Harley is more emotional than practical. You buy a Harley because you like the look, the sound, the feel, etc. Riding, for me, is more enjoyable on my Harley. I never sat in my garage and stared at my metric bikes!! Hope that makes sense. Good luck on your decision.

Probably the main thing that scares me away from Victory is their dealer network, or lack thereof. Many of their dealers are actually John Deere tractor dealerships and such. Not real confidence inspiring for me. I also understand that they are not real careful about who becomes a dealer so many of their dealerships are undercapitolized and go out of business at a pretty high rate. Contrast that with Harley dealerships. HD is very careful about who becomes a dealer and makes sure they can afford it. In addition, just about every little town out there has an indy who can handle working on yourHD should you be stranded somewhere and parts are rarely more than a couple of hours away.
Lastly, and I know this sounds snobbish, but there is truth to the saying that there are two kinds of riders out there...Those who own Harleys and those who want to own Harleys.
