By the looks of your screen name it looks like you have made up your mind. Anyway, take a look at your resale value of your '04 vs an '04 Harley. If your saving up all your overtime money to buy a new bike, a bunch of it will be gone as soon as you sign on the bottom line for your new Victory. Bottom line, ride what you want. If you have to talk yourself into it, something is wrong.
Friend of mine has or should I sayHAD a Victory and had nothing but tranny problems with it. He was always apologizing for it not being a Harley and couldn't sell it. It had to be put into a farm auction to get rid of it. He wants a Harley now........................................
You need new boots first off or change the position of the shifter, second Kuryakan gas other foot pegs so her feet can go where they are supposed to go and third if you want a Harley then buy one.
No point in discussing, you have made your mind up already. You have come up with all the reasons not to buy Harley. Enjoy the Victory and next year when your overtime time check comes you can buy right.
Man, I rode Harley's when they leaked oil while parked in the living room of my apartment at night, why? Because it was a Harley, you either want one or you don't, no one talks a Harley rider into a Harley. You would never be satisfied on a Harley. Harley owners have a love affair with their Harley, we gripe, bitch, moan and groan, but we ride our Harley's because we love them. Every Harley owner on this forum probably has spent several thousand more dollars at the least to make it their own above the list price, in chrome, engine work, or whatever. Good luck on your new Victory, they are a good all around right out of the box bike.
Bottom line, you know you'd rather have the Harley but you want us to qualify the decision. It doesn't work like that. It's a feeling you get, not something that words can easily explain.
