I don't think you're trolling; I think you just pushed a hot button. Try the Electraglide Classic or even the Road King. They will address most of the issues you talked about (except power and brakes). Besides, it's easier (and cheaper)to start taking things off the Classic than to add stuff to the Streetglide.
Regarding power and brakes, HD intentionally keeps the power down because the brakes aren't very good.
Size 8? Sounds like your wife has got bigger feet than you! I've never heard of that problem before. Gotta be a troll. There is no way a size 8 foot is going to have a problem with the floorboards and if you've owned any other bike before you know you can adjust the shifter lever. At least you got some juices flowing here!
You buy a Harley because you like the look, the sound, the feel, etc. Riding, for me, is more enjoyable on my Harley. I never sat in my garage and stared at my metric bikes!! Hope that makes sense. Good luck on your decision.
