Ohms speaker Question
Hi Folks!
I have a 08 Street Glide with a stock radio and 5 1/2" JBL speakers(2 Ohms).I put Wild-1 handlebars on my bike(which I love) but I'm going to have to remove my faring mirrors.I want to fill in the holes left by the stock mirrors with tweeters.I guess I need 1" tweeters but what Ohm do I need(or does it even matter)?Should I wire the tweeters straight to the JBL speakers? Thanks for any help or advice!

4 ohm tweeters will work just fine - you'll have a tough time finding 2 ohm ones anyway. And yes, just tap right in to your existing speakers. I just put tweeters on my bike, and soldered the leads going to the inline crossover for the tweeter right to the tabs on my Hogtune speakers. They sound great!

Nope....................Pro stage sound is my hobby. I know sound and sound equipment.
To answer your question,"Yes, it does matter"
The nominal Ohms rating of your speakers determine the power output of your amp. Simply stated, the higher the resistance of the speaker, the less power your amp puts out.....You will do no damage @ 4 Ohms on a 2 Ohmrated amp, but it's likely the tweeters will not be as "brite" sounding as they need to be.
Go ahead and try it because you are going up in resistance-not down.....It can often be disasterous to go the other way tho.
If you have the specs on the crossover, then please post them or the link to themand I can better advise.
