Default 95" Big Bore with 203's

Hey All,
What is the going price on a 95" big bore kit with 203 cams?
I already have the Stage 1 Air Filter Kit with K&N and theSERT.
I also have the SE64903-99 one piece slipons.
I would think it will be considerably cheaper with what I already have.
A dyno tune would be a must.
Any idea what kind of numbers I can expect?
Thanks,
magnoliarunner

A buddy bought one of the Stage II BigBore kits from a local dealership several months ago for just under $400 I believe. They were trying to get rid of them. He installed the jugs & pistons, but used different cams. I bet he'd make ya a deal on the 203's, if that's what ya really want.

I'd geuss about 90/90 +/- depending on the quality of the tune.

My buddy did a 95" build last year and was happy with it except for using 203 cams that he got on a "deal." He doesn't like to be reminded every time he rides that he used those cams.

Also, why buy cylinders and heads when the ones you have are pefectly good for a 95" build? What will you do with the take-offs after you have the BB kit installed?

You could do a set of Head-Quarters HQ-0034 cams and have better performance than the SE BB kit with those 203's. Cams would cost $275.

Not criticizing folks who go with the BB kit; it is better than stock and the difference is noticeable. But the SE BB kits are poor $$$ value for the performance delivered IMHO.

I'm running the stage 2 95" big bore,203 cams stage 1 air breather with the
HD-0800 k&n filter,SE Pro slip-on's (98b's), race tuner as well. I'm pleased with this set up and wasnt looking for a big jump in power,my problem was one of a warrentee problem they wouldnt open the motor for, with 6,000 miles on the bike when i bought it. By putting in the big bore set up, they were forced into opening the motor and in fact had to warrentee the problem i was having. for me it was a matter of getting a problem fixed before my warrentee ran out. I started off with the cartrigage download, and added the sert later on when the coin was available.
the stage 2 didnt add monster power, but it did give me alot more pull feeling. I ended up all said and done after a dyno tune with 78 hp/94 tq with stock heads.
notbig power changes but noticable seat of the pants one's i'm pleased with my results, and the fact they had to replace the oil pump, fix a inner primary leak and basically rebuild my whole primary , they even changed out my cam chian tentioners and the chain guide under warrentee while doing the work for $0.00 out of my pocket, had i waited it would have cost me approx $1,500 out of pocket more after the warrentee ran out, sure there are alot better set up's out there, pick the one you'll be happy with.

I think a set off ebay would be a bargain. I ran that build from Day 1 for six years of low-end power for effortless cruising through the local mountains. If I did it over again, I would just mill my cylinders, add forged SE pistons and use an Andrews bolt-in chain-driven cam with a T-Max AutoTune (like the BB kit, a set of matched components). The SE BB kit was a good compromise between the mods I wanted and the $$$ I had at the time.

Wait until the winter specials come out. The dealers usually run specials on engine mods to keep them busy during the winter. 95" with 203's are around $1500.00 less what you already have stage 1 etc. Do some research on the cams and, get what suits your riding stile. Don't let eveyone get you down on the 203's if you want to stay with SE parts they're not bad. I get 82hp and 97 tq. with 203's.
