Well after 30 yrs of riding a Honda I finally got a Harley. I had just bought a new aero in April and last week I was looking at Harleys on the the internet. I thought I could not afford the payments for a harley soI figured out some payments on a nice 2006 street glide with 7,000 miles and to my surprise my payments would only be 150.00 more a month for the harley. The bike I found was beautiful. I went to the dealer and ask for a test ride. Now this was the first time I rode a Harley. What a difference ! I mean what f-------n diference it was unbeleivable. It rode like I was in a car. I wanted it bad. The street glide had python pipes, screamin eagle air cleaner, stage 1 kit, Mccooney carb, driver and passenger backrest, chrome switch housing, chrome accent around gauges and the upgraded wheels. So I traded in my new aero and lost $2,000.00( told the wife only $500.00- she's cool about my toysas long as I buy her a toy once in awhile) I paid $16,995.00 for the street Glide and I think that was a good price with all the extras that were included. The stereo was loud but I wanted it louder so the dealer sold me a set of hogtunes. When I went to the dealer to have them installed they called me into the shop and showed me that their were 130 watt polk speakers on it already and gave me a refund for the hogtunes cus the polks are better. Pretty honest, they could of just put in the hogtunes and charged me an hour and a half labor. They didn't charge me a thing and even put on my highway pegs I bought for free. I was then talking to the head mechanic and he told me the guy who owned the bike bought a new ultra and that he takes good care of bikes and even winter stored it there. He also said the bike has a crain electronic ignition ??? and the guy even replaced the chain driven cam shaft with a gear driven one. He said I really got a great price for the bike. I really love the bike.
Sorry for the long story, just a little excited with the new bike. One question tho, I would like to install an amplifier for my Harmon/Karmon but I know its a 2 ohm something. Any suggestions- nothing really expensive- $200.00 to $300.00 is ok, I like it loud plus my pipes are nice and loud.
Thanks,
Chuck in lockport, il.

Hey Chuck, like you I just move up from a Shadow to a Harley. I was looking for an affordable touringbike and was suprised to find a 2006 Electra Glide cheaper than most 2006 Gold Wings. I think most metric riders never find out that with HD'syou get a lot of bike for the money.
My #1 complaint? Thetruck hasn'tdelivered it yet!
