I ran into a guy at Biketoberfest who told me not to worry about a fuel pack. He added slipons and a K&N airfilter and said his bagger runs fine. I guess I want to know-----doesn't that lean it out even more. And the "heat" issue won't be cured without riching it up with a fuel pack or PCIII, right. He didn't give me a straight answer on all that.
Most slip-ons you can get away with but increasing the air flow.... Ya really need to get a Fuel Management System... More Air = LEANER CONDITION.... Lean = More Heat.... You're 100% correct...
I had a guy from PA say the same thing to me on Wednesday about his 07 Road Glide and he said his pipes looked fine and was getting 50 mpg and the bike ran great.
Sure had mescratching my headafter reading everyone saying you need a tuner if you go with a bigger airbox when you do slip-ons.
Maybe some bikes can get away with it?
I know with my carb'd bike I had when I went with the ProPipe and K&N it spit like a big dog until I rejetted. Maybe EFI masks this a little better than a carb does. The heat will be a telling factor, though.
I'm glad to hear that your first cousin's uncle's next door neighbor's nephew that lives near a bike owned by no relative of yours has a crapper handy for all his chit

i ran a stage 1 a/c,rinehart true duals on my 06 ultra without any fuel mgmt for 12k miles.i just tore it down for a big bore 95,and it looked fine inside.you could tell tht it was a tad lean, because the pistons were void of any carbon.dont know for sure that thats a bad thing or not.
