I am getting ready to install a King TP on my EGS and I would like to have some lighting for the rear. I really like the hoglite that is on ebay but it is a brake light only. Does anyone know of a light similar to that one or the one found in the HD spoiler that will work both as a running light and a brake light? I really am looking for a LED style light and would be ok if it would flash when the brakes are applied. Thanks in advance for any help! Bryan
I have the HD tour pak spoiler/LED and like it; works as run/brake light and is easy to install and wire.
You should also take a look at the squadfitters.com website. Squadfitters is a police motorcycle equipment vendor; nice people and a large selection of lights. A couple of guys have used this LED strip, costs $107, and are very pleased with it:
I also have the HD spoiler/LED and love it. Not only looks good but sitffened up the lid. I am waiting on the spoilers for the bags now. The spoiler is well worth the money.
Archer: If you haven't done so already, add the HD module that makes the rear turn signals operate as run/brake lights also--it makes a big difference and costs ~$50.
Cornfed: If you have the HD module, you can wire the saddlebag LEDs to work as turn signals in addition to the run/brake function. That's how I wired my saddlebag LEDs.
Ok, you guys got my mind working. There was a Rich Sunglo Blue HD Spoiler on ebay that I was watching. It ended today and I was not home to bid so I missed out. Just took a look and it did not meet their reserve and did not sell. I just gave them a call and they told me I could have it for $150 plus shipping. I bought it!!! For that price I was happy. The cheepest I could find it anywhere else is Chicago HD and they are $175 plus shipping. Saved me $25 so what the heck. Glad I looked and took the time to call. They also have the matching saddlebag spoilers but I cannot afford them right now. Thanks Bryan
