I have a 07 Roadking Classic, since day one it has a pinging problem. When I crack the throttle doing a down shift or just cracking the throttle at a stop sign the bugger pings. Is there anyone out there that has the same problem?? If so what is the fix? I was told if I richen it up it should do the trick, because they are set up to run lean.Any imput???
Yep same problem, fixed it with a Tmax, increased the AFR and retarded timing, bike is much stronger and no pinging, bad gas milage though, 33 MPG but will tune it in over the next month should get back to 40 - 42.
Bike is stock except for V&H pipes. Pinged since day one. A service manager told me that there is a free download that shuts the back cylender off when it its at a idle for a certain amount of time and when it reaches a certain temp. I don't know if I like that idea

Why the heck would you want to shut the back cylinder off. The Thundernax with Auto Tune will tune the bike as you ride. I had a 07 Wide Glide and put one on it. Put one on my buddy's 07 Street Bob.

How much did you need to retard the timing and at what throttle position/rpm?
