Not quite as depressing here ... it was 78 degrees here today on the Gulf Coast. We have to ride year round. I feel bad for you guys up north .........
We down here in Lousyana get bored riding year round, so we pray for rain.......Never have time for mods.....We just buy mods and store them in case bike breaks long enuff to get them installed.
The good & the bad. Yeah, I live in the south with year 'round ridin' so I don't have to face puttin' the bike up like you do. But! I'll never have a bike as well detailed at the one in your sig. Every year at Bike Week it's the riders from the midwest that consistantly have the cleanest, most well cared for bikes. Enjoy your wrenching, that's part of the motorcycle fun too!
Haven't had snow yet in my part of Wyoming. The bike will stay ready to ride until then, but its been unusually nice here for much longer than normal, so winter could hit any day. Once the snow comes and sand/salt/mag-cloride goes on the streets the bike will be put up....don't like getting that crap on the bike and not have nice enough weather to wash it off. I've been adding fuel conditioner (Yamaha product, like it better than stabil) to the tank each time I fill it up lately thinking this could be the end, but then the forecast shows more 60 degree temps and another ride might be possible. Unfortunately this time of year the wind speed frequently has a higher number than the temperature....I thought yesterday was going to be a riding day, but the wind was just too much. Once it goes up on the lift, covered and plugged in to the battery tender I try not to look into that corner of the garage....gets way too depressing.
we may pay for the summers of 100 plus and 500% humidity, But there are few days through the winter we cant ride. Love those 45 degree morning that warm up to about 65. Mid 70's here today
