Well if you remove the baffel that's in there (take your time and use a thin lube\oil it will come out without damage to the muffler) and measure it... You can always find a replacement baffle to make it softer or louder depending on the baffle size ordered
Before you replace them try removing and wrapping with either fiberglass or stainless steel wool. That will also tone them down and mellow out the bark. Might be enough for ya.
