I've ridden w/ one of the original Cactus Jack's forover 50K on my metric. It's a quality piece. No, it doesn't hit u or the bike at any speed. A little thing called gravity combined with the weight & length of the strap itself keeps it safely "afloat." The basics of the design is to draw more attention to your bikewhileweaving thru traffic.The quick-release is more a safely feature than that of a weapon. Several MCs I know use them as a show of club colors.
