Default Cruise control

I have an 01 Roadglide with carb. My controls have buttons for cruise control but it apparently doesn't work. The fella I bought the bike from said it doesn't have it because in 01 bikes with carbs didn't come with cruise. I don't see why that would be they have been doing it on cars forever. Can anyone shed any light on this subject?

Contact Cruisemount; Dave, the owner, is a good guy and can provide what you need to have HD cruise control on your carbed '01 RG. Here's a link:

http://www.cruisemount.com/roadking.html

The problem is not carb or EFI since HD still sells cruise kits for carbed bikes from '02 through '06.

Dave can fix you up with what you need to use a current HD cruise kit on your '01 RG.
