I bought a used '07 Ultra last week and immediately started a post here asking for "performance mod" suggestions. I felt the bike lacked "passing punch" and wasn't every responsive. That was after my first 100 miles. After a few hundred more miles, I'm happy to report that much of the problem was related to running at 2500 - 3000RPM. I've discovered this baby comes into its' own at 3500 +, where it gets into the strength of its power range. I won't consider 6th below 70-75 mph. I could care less about a few less mpg...much rather have the throttle response. I still will consider some of he many helpful responses to my other post, but for the time being, I am satisfied thatcruising at higher RPMsprovides a bit more grunt when I need it. Having said that, Stage 1 w/SE slip-ons is still on the table....just without the sense of urgency I had before.
07 Street Glide, SERT, drilled mufflers, oil cooler,Screaming EagleAir Cleanerand dyno makes more power than I expected. 75 HP and 85 ft. pounds torque out of a stock motor.
After the stage 1 you'll notice the extra punch. But, is it worth $1200 to you? Nevermind, of course it is. Enjoy what you got now and save for more goodies.
