You guys got me changing my plans.... I can do either wheels or 103" this winter... Looks like I need to give Bart a call and see what kinda deal I can get on that HQ 103" touring package... In Cali I am stuck with the 91 octane so no sport touring package / increased compression for my bike Something tells me the extra 35HP or so will be a blast though
You guys are driving me crazy!!!!!!!!! I've been looking at the HQ 103 or 107 Sport Touring Kit for some time. I like the idea of not having to crack the cases. Gotta contact Shooter64. My wife said it's either me or the bike..... I'm really gonna miss her!
Rod, I run the 575 like i said..... And like you said you was up to speed without noticing...... isn't it great?
YepI had barely entered the freeway and lookeddown and the speedo was close to 90 MPH. Either your speedo needs calibrating orI better save up some ticket/bail money. []

If you don't "need" more passing power, get the rims. I was contemplating rims or engine. When I'm by myself the 88" is great, but when I go 2 up, it's like another bike. I like the bling on the bike better but an engine upgrade is necessary for me. They say chrome won't get you home but a perfectly running 88" will.
I emailed Kevin for advice on my build, being in Cali, I askedif I would be better off with "touring" 95 kit i& 10:1 CRinstead of the ST since I only have access
to 91 octane fuel... He replied if I was buying thru a dealer.. Which I am.. (Bart)
"you are that dealers customer....and it is the dealers responsibilty to guide you in the right direction and to support you in a fashion that provides the level of service Head Quarters customers have always received."
But If I were buying thru HQ..
"I will be more than happy to assist you in this stage of your build as well as after"
It would seem to me that as the manufacturer they would want their customers satisfied regardless of who it was purchased thru... I gotta say I'm a little disappointed in the reply I got... Am I off the mark here??
If I buy Microsoft products from someone like EMC or another integrator for a particular "solution", I am required to go thru that integrator for tech support.... or I can always open an incident w/Microsoft directly for $400.
I suppose this could be considered a similar scenario.
For the record, I do not know the specifics of Barts deal, as I have not talked to him yet, but I will see what I can find out. I do know that traditionally, the dealers (like XYZ Harley shop) have been installing packages, so this may be unchartered territory.

Or you could look at it like this...
I bought my Renegade Wheel and 360 thru Bart... Awesome deal and I respect Bart and he has nothin to do with thisexcept as a point of reference..
When I decided to take off the 360 and go single disc I needed to replace the hub..
I called Renegade direct, and not only did they not redirect me to the dealer where I purchased the wheel.. I had my hub the NEXT DAY... that to me is service...
I would think that when addressing someone's business practices...while questioning their integrity....you would at least offer them the courtesy of quoting the entire email they sent instead of leaving out the parts that don't support your point.
If you want to make sure you get the most out of your build, the right build, for your situation, without question, and the assurance that comes from knowing you are getting advice from the person that engineered what you are buying....it's only fair to give that person the business. You have enough confidence in your dealer to spend $2000 with him, but not enough confidence in your dealers ability to select the proper build for you....to me, that speaks volumes.
