For 2008 6 speed transmission anyone here use "Gear Saver". I was told it isbetter and used more than HD SyntheticTrannyOil.
I was told it will shift better, smoother Etc.
What do you guy's use? and Why?
HD sells Formula+, which is an unremarkable engine oil that they want you to use in your tranny and primary, at a remarkably high price of $6.50/qt. Bel-Ray sells Gear Saver, which is reputed to be an excellent gear oil. Pick a gear oil (since it's for a gearbox) from among major brands, including Bel-Ray, based on price and availability--preferably a synthetic. It's all good, and whatever someone else uses and likes is really quite irrelevant, IMO.
Since you have an '08 there's no reason to use an oil thicker than 75w90, which would be advisable only on '07's without IDS.
