please advise, how to determine best length, 11, 12, 13" etc?, is there one
length that is considered "standard" or close to the same as the HD RK
factory length? thanks.
Progressive recommends not to go any lower then 1" from the OEM shock - On the RK the OEM is 13"
except the road king custom which is 12. i run 11.5 inch 440s cause i have short legs and this helps me have more foot on the ground for things like backing up, etc. even still, as good as or better ride than the air shocks.
I'm also interested in getting the Progressive 440s. I can't seem to find info anywhere on the length of the OEM shocks for my 2008 Ultra Classic to know which one to order. Anyone know or know where to find such info? I've looked at a couple sites that you can order OEM parts from which have the parts numbers but don't give info like lenght of shock. Actually, I have the Harley lowering kit on my bike so I believe I would need to order 1" shorter than OEM. My friend has a 2007 Ultra and says his OEM are 14". I thought most of the touring bikes had 13" OEM. I suppose I can check with dealer tomorrow but may be able to buy some Progressives at a really good price today if I know which ones for sure. May not be available tomorrow. Help!
On my streetglide, I took off the 12" airshocks and went to a 13" Works Streettracker with ARS. I ride pretty agressively and was tired of the rough ride and lack of ground clearance with stuff dragging during moderate cornering. I'm very happy with the improvement.
