Actually, I have the Harley lowering kit on my bike so I believe I would need to order 1" shorter than OEM. My friend has a 2007 Ultra and says his OEM are 14". I thought most of the touring bikes had 13" OEM. I suppose I can check with dealer tomorrow but may be able to buy some Progressives at a really good price today if I know which ones for sure. May not be available tomorrow. Help!

Pull off one of the saddle bags and measure...eye bolt to eye bolt to find out the length...I believe other than the SG,RKCustom stock is 13in...I put 12.5in on my '04 RK...went with 440 heavy springs...I clock in @ 190 the wife 125...the ride is great two-up but a little hard by myself even on the softest setting...I think if I had it to do over I would have went with the standard spring...either way they are much better than the HD air shocks!!

http://www.mawonline.com/ this place has about the best prices on Progressive shocks

Default OEM Shock Length - Ultra Classic

Thanks for the quick responses. They seem consistent with what I'm finding. Actually I just dug up the OEM shocks which I removed when I lowered the bike with the HD lowering kit (supposed to be 1" but looks like literature says 3/4"). Anyway, it measures 13". I have an EZ-up center stand sized for the 1" lowering. I assume I either need to put 12" Progressives on as the 13" would cause the center stand to no longer be the right one? I only ask because I think I can buy the 13" for a REALLY good price. I'm still curious as to how my friend with the 2007 Ultra can say his OEM were 14" and he put 13" Progressives since he also has the lowering kit and the same center stand -everything OK for him.

he can say it all he wants, doesn't make it correct. on 07, there were only 2 different shocks offered. 12 inch for the street glide and the road king custom, and 13 inch for everything else (touring class)

I just ordered a set of 940's from this place, http://www.onestopmoto.com/ . Salesman said they act like a 13 inch shock but give a ride height of a 12 inch. Has a bit of sag. Kind of pricey but if they work good should be worth it.

Either he got some misinformation, and is passing it on, or he can't read a tape. You'd be surprised how many people can't read a tape.

I need all the ground clearance I can get. I took off my 12" on my street glide and went to 13" Works. The hard bits don't drag so much and the ride is much better. The longer shocks have more travel and don't bottom as much either. As far as the stock SG shocks, riding on air is not like riding on a cloud.
