My wife was a little cramped because I have the adjustable back rest - installed the George Anderson relocator - now she loves it! BTW - George Anderson - I love his business cards - it says George Anderson - Doer of Things - that is great! I received the relocator 2 days after I ordered it and I know he hadn't recieved my money yet.............great doing business with a guy like that. Easy install!
My wife loves it, mine is adj but we leave it in 1 postion.
Allot more room when the tour pac is off and the just the back rest is up, but still she feels safe being nesstled in there
You guy's probably already know this, but you can gain some room by adjusting the trunk back a few inches on the detachable mount if you have one, as well as there is some adjustment on the detachable mount itself when you assemble it. All in all you can get the tour pak back about 4" if you adjust them both.
Get the adjustable. You'll be happier. You can also just take it off when you don't feel like having it on. I just jsued mine when I was going on rides over a couple of hundred miles.
Windup08, Iset upmy Anderson kit at 1.25 inches back and noticed no difference in handling whatsoever. I've never tried it at 2.5 inches, I thought maybe it would look goofy.
stro1965 and Arvid. I have been thinking about the George Anderson relo kit, but have been wondering how much it affects the handling of the bike I just don't think my wife's "chest" is going to give me the back support I've gotten used to, but I really don't want to screw up the balance of the bike since it seems to handle so well right now.
I put the George Anderson kit on my bike because my wife felt cramped when I had my backrest on which I definately need for longer rides. I can't tell any difference and I'm the kind of person who can tell whena tire is a little low or my shocks are a little low. You're not moving the tour pak back enough to notice any difference in handling. In theory, you are changing the bikes center of gravity but I suspect it's by no more than a half inch or so.Air pressure in your tires or shocks will have a lotmore noticeable effect than the GA kit.
Thanks for the responses. I will likely be ordering the GA relo kit as soon as I can pry the checkbook out of my wife's hands....she's starting to doubt me when I say "no really honey....this something we really need".
My 5'3", 125 LB wife doesn't mind the driver backrest at all. She even said that she likes to fold hre arms and lean forward on it to rest every now and then. I don't mind being pushed forward either, I'm vertically challenged ya know.
OK Guys. what about this GA tourpack reloactor and will it work for thos of us who still ride older bikes.? A website or pics or something would help. Also cost?
