Dropped my previous bike (a Deuce) at a filling station one time. No harm, but really embarrassing!Overall it was a good thing, because the incident made me very attentive during slow speed turns and stops.

I dropped the Sportster a few months back (before I moved up to the SG) at a gas station when I thought the kickstand was down. Had back surgery for the piece of disk I broke off trying to stop it from falling. Good news is I was only out of work for two days (surgery Friday, back to work Tuesday). As much as I love the new SG, if it starts to go over, I'm bailing. Thanks to excellent insurance, my $29k surgery cost me $126!

When you fit the saddlebag guards, do the chrome bars under the bags have to come off and be replaced?

Anyone know where I can get black 'comfort' profile rear saddlebag guards?

Could buy chrome and powder, but I would rather not.

Saturdy, I pushed the kickstand down and it came back up without my knowing it. Go to sit the bike on the kickstand and it ain't there. Could not keep it from falling over as I was too late realizing what was wrong. Sit it down on the engine guard. Real pretty and the bike cut off on its own. Pissed me off. Grabbed the handlebars and gave it a tug and got it upright, sit it on the kickstand....watching it engage. Not a scratch. **** happens my friend.

Did the same thing on a poker run a couple of weeks ago. Backed the bike in slapped the stand down, it came back up, leaned the bike over and it kept going. Managed to pull it back up but not before 50 other guys saw it. I think if it had been in front of a bunch of cages it would have been worse. The guysI was riding with all had a laugh but it was that yup I've been there kinda look.
