I don't have a picture handy right now, but, if you check out Bruisers Inc., they have some nice stuff to doll up the left of the bike like a chrome pulley cover, chrome pulley bolt covers and HD sells a chrome belt cover which I have on my bike.
As far as the looks of a touring bike with exhaust on only one side, it says "perforomance" to those that know and for those that don't.
Fugem'.
The fatcats I got last week had a notice saying the pipes can blue a little in the breakin
period, recommended using chrome polisher to keep the pipes clean then should be ok
after they have some miles.
Iinstalled the V&HPro BP when I did some engine mods. I had Rinehart TD'sbefore with only A/C and SERT. I am 5'7 with a 30" inseam and the left/rear pipe would burn me behindmy leftleg when both feet were on the ground at a stop or backing the bike in to a spot. I called Bub tech service about this and they said they have heard this complaint before and it is due to the bigger pipe bend required for the 6sp 07/08. I just finished putting 500 miles on the upgraded bike and it is in the shop for a 5000 mile and performance dyno tuning. My mechanic mapped the bike rich to reduce heat during break in. The BP does have a plate that forces the exhaust through the baffle that has alot of 1/4" sized holes. It is a loud pipe. I have a big cam with 609 lift and it lopes good, sounds more like a Camaro SS I used to have. I talked to Ernie at V&H tech service about punching out that plate, he said my bottom end and mid range will drop, but with my mods top end will be fine. He wants me to give him some dyno feedback if I do it. I don't think I will, my mechanic did punch a hole the size of pencil to get the dyno sniffer in there and said that won't make a difference.
The new Pro Pipe BP is guaranteed blue proof. It is still too new to tell if that holds up long term. I am actually considering the Pro Pipe for my RG. I had the Fat Cat on my Street Glide and loved the look. Just not the sound. Still considering it as well. I'm wondering if the sound would be different on the 95 than it was on the 88.
I wish V&H woud do the Tapered Slash Cut 2-1 for the baggers. Looks almost as good as the Fat Cat IMO.
MM...I agree with you re: the slash cut Propipe. It is as good looking. An upside is the back pipe doesn't come around as much under the leg and behind the calf for added heat. The downside is they aren't equal length headers.
I also had a Fatcat on my 95" pre SE Heads. I didn't remove it due to sound, rather I just didn't find the peformance for the Stage II SE build to improve over my old VH Duals set up and the dyno pretty much proved that to me. Now with SE heads and bumped compression, I can promise you the sound is awesome. I have the standard baffle and the sound is awesome. I mean better than mostI've heard kind of awesome. I believe the Fatcat is the one thing keeping my torque AND horsepower up as good as it is, due to the poor dealer bolt in of my SE Heads and cams. I'm sure the squish wasn't properly set and with proper deck height..this after two refutable tuners were baffled by the low 90's numbers on my build. Getting ready to fix that, but I am glad I put another Fatcat on my bike for whatever it's worth.
As I stated in a previous thread," I currently have the V&H PP BP on my 07 SG". Rode 5000 miles with no problems or bluing. Right now I like the sound and the pipe's looks so much that you couldn't change my mind if you gave me another brand.
btw - Kern.... Anyone told you that "that bike just looks sweet" (today)? [8D]
It was odd, I only got one PM yesterday about what color, what pipe etc. [8D]
Thanks for the compliments though.

Wow, that does look good Kern! No discoloration issues at all? What other pipe would you compare the sound to?
No discolorations at all. In fact, the fitment and finish is like no other I have seen. As far as sound, I don't know what I could compare it to, but I know it kicks @ss. One thing I did notice, the sound of the pipe has changed since I first put it on about 3000 miles ago. It has a much deeper and meanersound to it. The pipe "seasons" well.Hard to put it into words. I love it though!!!I'm glad PhilM did the internet twisting of the arm and convinced me/us it was the way to go.
I myself am to the point where I think a 2-1 looks better than TD's. I just have never thought baggers looked right missing the pipe coming out of the rear jug to the right side. It is too empty looking. And the look from the back does not bother me either. How long has the Heritage been out?? It has bags and has both pipes on the right side. No one ever says that doesn't look right.
