I lined up the accessories and engine work on my new scoot today, and even though I like the look of true duals a little better, I went with the V&H propipe for the performance aspect of it. Is anybody else running this pipe on their bagger? I went with this over some of the other 2 into 1 pipes because of the full length heat shields - it seems that these might not discolor as bad as some of the others I've seen (namely the Reinhart and Thunderheaders). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
They are guarenteed (sp?) not to blue ~ ever. The ProPipe WILL blue about 8 ~ 10" from the end of the megaphone - right where the baffle starts. I've had a couple. Also, as performance goes.... the ProPipe is kinda old news when compared to FatCat, SuperTrapp, Bassani..... If you had a Fatcat and liked the perfomance, but not the look..... you could add a falsie later.
Yea.... I have played "pipe turnover" as much as anyone (except maybe MUC) & the FatCat has been the best and is quite predictable as results go.
I am on my 2nd one now & have install at least 1/2 dozen others for buds..... Street price can be high, but you might check w/Bart. Last time I was at his shop, he had a stack of them in the back.
btw - I appologize if I came off like a horsesass... that was not my intent!
The new Pro Pipe BP is guaranteed blue proof. It is still too new to tell if that holds up long term. I am actually considering the Pro Pipe for my RG. I had the Fat Cat on my Street Glide and loved the look. Just not the sound. Still considering it as well. I'm wondering if the sound would be different on the 95 than it was on the 88.
I wish V&H woud do the Tapered Slash Cut 2-1 for the baggers. Looks almost as good as the Fat Cat IMO.
i converted.....i gained 13hp with the D&D and lost no tq compaired to the v&h true duals and rush mufflers i had. Got mine from Bart....best price i could find that included a quiet baffle.
That's different.... I have not seen or used that one. The baffle is totally different. It may not have the problems I experienced in the past.
One thing about the PP is that it does have a nice sound ~ at least the old ones did.
As far as sound change on the FatCat .... really only compression & cams make a difference, but it is still fundementally the same. Love it or hate it.....
Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone way running the BP specifically. It looks a lot less likely to blue then the original. I know that I like the sound of the Propipe and I haven't seen the FatCat.
