Default Rewiring passing lamps

Good day all. New member just joined. Looking for assistance. I've heard that there is a "simplistic" way to rewire thethe passing lamps to work only through the console switch. In other words, the passing lamps aren't controlled through the use of the headlamps but only through the rocker switch. I took my fairing off last lightto explore the wiring and am somewhat intimidated by what I've seen. I've handle tools before but only to do very simple jobs.I own the shop manualand have reviewed the electrical schematics but I'm still having difficulty identifying theright connectors etc. NO JOB for me is simple, so I would ask that your answers be detailed and any pictures would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks for your patience and your help.
Safe riding.
G

I'm thinking you mean you want them to be able to burn whether your headlight is on hi or low beam, and you want to ability to switch them off? Right?

Yep, here is a link to a post that explains exactly how to do it.

The easiest way to do that is by just taking off the inner faring cap--the one under your ignition switch. All the wires you need are right there behind the switches. Make sure you leave enough "tail" on the yellow wire when you cut it, so that it can be put back to original in the future if so desired by you or the next owner, and make sure you tape or cap the end of the wire, as it is hot whenever your dim lights are on.

Read the directions carefully on how to remove and reinstall the ignition switch.

I wired mine to operate from the rocker switch, controllable in either high beam or low beam. The hot wire comes off the ignition switch so that I don't forget to turn them off whenI leave the bike. I run them "always on" when riding.

Do it as depicted in the link and lights will go out when you turn off ignition no matter what position cowl/fairing switch

For Road King, the switch is on right side of rear of headlight housing, but if wired as per linky it will work the same.
