I have been trying to find out why my2002 FLHPIis running so rich. I mean gagging, stay in your nose, smell on your clothes when you stand behind it, only 25 MPG rich. The plugs are not wet but it is definately not burning all the fuel. The plugs are gapped properly and I am running a can Berryman through it.
I have been looking at the fuel injection scematic and do not know what to check first. No check engine light and when I try to read the codes, I get nothing. Maybe I am not doing that right; is it "on" for 3 seconds, "accessory" for 3 seconds and then back to "on"?
Couldthe Police Department that owned ithave modified the ECM?
I think mine's running a little rich too, get some odor also. Running 91 octane all the time, but also have the HD stage 1 download which is fixed. Haven't checked the plugs lately but will this weekend. I thought the download would tend to run a little lean, but maybe not. Air filter is clean. Oh well, it is a gas driven engine after all . . . .
