I plan to order the clearview shield for my 08 RG. I have the chrome trim now and really want to keep it. I've read here that the clearview creates a gap between the chrome and the bike. Has anyone found a good fix for that?
Also, what size clearview shields are you running on your RG?
I've got the standard height Clearview for my 07 RG and it works great. I'm 6'1" (with long legs) so my height might be a little deceiving fort eh height selection.
I had the H-D chrome trim on with my stock windshield but couldn't see anyway that it was going to fit properly with the Clearview so I left the trim off.
I read where a forum member cut down the top of the mounting screws for the windshield to get a better fit. I didn't try that.
I am running a Clearview small (1" lower 2" wider) has better protection from wind then the OEM windshield had... I'm 6'4"
You can call them and they'll tell you what the right size for your height & riding sytle..
But as far as the chrome trim - Clearview being thicker so the trim doesn't fit flush
Correct, the chrome trim will not lay flat on the faining on the sides, using a Clearview windshield. I am 5'10" have the medium for more protection for passenger. For me only, could run the GT short to look over the top of the shield. With the medium, I have to make myself sit up straight to look over the top of the shield.
