This question is for the Street Glide riders!
While searching for that perfect, comfortableride; did y'all considered the RK, and if you did; what was/were your pros/con, which prompted you to buy the SG and not the RK?[]
Have ridden both before I went for the street glide, Road King the way that sit you are positionedvery straight IMHO on the street glide yousit in a more relaxed& comfortable position. The Bat fairing is ugly when you look at it but when you are behind it you have all the gauges, radio etc which over rules its looks. The way the SG lines are from the side viewmade my choice that much clearer.
"But like my mama said that is why they have chocolate and vanilla ice cream it is all about your taste buds...."
Went in with full intentions of purchasing a RK, looked at it very hard, then I saw the SG, so I went over and checked it out very well. I decided I wanted the radio and I did like the batwing fairing, soit was the SG for meGo for what ever you feel comfortable with, also what ever gives you that $hit eatin grin.
I really wanted a RKC but when I got to the dealer and saw the SG I knew that I had to have the Radio, Batwing fairing and I really liked the bad azzed look of the SG.
I've owned an 01 and an 03 RK. I now own an 08 SG. Both rides are similar. TheRK might handle a faction better because of the weight diff on the front end. The SG has a lot more protection than the RK. You can ride both bikes across the counrty and I've rode the RK on 600 miles days. But in my opinion with the windshield off or chopped the RK is a around town crusier. Buy the SG if you want to eat big miles day in and day out.
