I don't believe hogbag means that 2002 was the only year for the timken bearing. Crankshafts in the 02 and earlier twin cam engines, have a tapered timken bearing on the left side, and a straight, needle, roller type bearing on the right side. In 03 harley changed to straight roller bearings on both sides. It seems the tapered bearing absorbs some preload, something not possible with straight roller bearings. Unless you are going to try for some big HP numbers, I don't believe you'll have any problems.

Besides, if you save 10k on the purchase price, think of all the chrome you can now afford!
