I've got a badlander seat on it now. I sent an email to C&C seats. The response I got was that there seats sat about as high as a badlander. They couldn't give me a definitive height nor would they say anyhting about comfort. I appreciate the responses. Does anyone have a part number for the progressive 412's. I am about 185lbs. I'd like to try the 11's.
Hi all,I weighing 200 lbs and my wife 120 lbs. Usually ride 2 up.Can we I ride at the same height and lowest with 12.5 "Progressive Suspension 412 Heavy Duty Series without losing comfort and without hitting?
Is this a good change compared with the Stock air Shocks for My Ultra Classic '00? Thanks for your help!
11" will still bottom out on dips... Been there done that.... Might consider some type of Air Ride Shock... They're not cheap but it might be the way to get ya lower without rubbin the rear tire
I just went thru this also. Had 12" harley air shocks on 06 Ultra. Went to Progressive 412 heavy duty 12.5". Have them on the softest setting. It rides soooo much better. Solo 185lbs or double +115 lbs
Hey So Cal Pappy
You say you were bottoming with the 11" shocks. How much do you weigh and do you ride solo. Also were the shocks progressive 412's or another brand. I am close to pulling the trigger on new shocks and need as much input as I can get. Much appreciation!
Doesn't look like Pappy is on, but I think I can answer your question...I had my 412's set on the lowest setting when I first put them on and bottomed out I weigh 250 lbs and the wife 120 so I adjusted them up to the middle walla no problem after that.... When I ride 1 up it dosen't seem to harsh or anything..........
White night I appreciate your answer. You didn't say what length shocks you had. I am leaning towards the 11' but want to make sure they won't give me a problem. The lowering blocks lowered the bike the desired amount but as I said before at 1" lower than stock it hit the fender. I moved it up so it was about 3/4 of an inch and that took care of the problem. I made the brackets so now they are adjustable. In any event I can't help but think if I just put a shorter shock in the stock mounting hole where it's supposed to be all will be right with the world. I just need to determine if 11" is the one or 11.5 is the answer.
Thanks to everyone who has replied.
Penske's are out, just read the members reports for the best ride available bar none. BTW member Bryan TTM Has a set of premium air shocks that are near new (from what I hear) for sale. I rember seeing them in the for sale part or on a post a month or so ago. I guess the price new was around $1,600? I think he wants 1/2 price.
