just like everyone else on this forum, when i made some mods to my ride it started popping, and snapping. so like many,i installed a power commander. last week the powercommander went to sleep, when it did it took the rear jug with it. it had fire, but no gas.
(plug was dry) so i figure it was probally an injector. called the HD shop, and they had 2 which was pretty rare, since they dont carry much stuff for early injected models. the only injectors were the SE red injectors, i didnt know much about em and didnt care, just wanted to get back on the road. got back to the shop and replaced the injectors. and when i fired it up again no rear jug.so i decided to disconnect the power commander and wow it fired right up. i buttoned everything up and took her out for a ride. turns out the red injectors flow more fuel, what a difference, it runs like it crazy, it doesnt spit, cough, pop, bang, snap, spark rattle ect. ect. ect. the throttle response is awesome, it wants to bounce of the rev limiter every time i shift. and it runs smooth as silk. the ionly adjustments i had to make, was play with the idle settings both cold and hot. the only conclusion i can come up with is that the pcIII can kiss my redneck ***, ill stay with the red injectors.
Why don't you tell us how you really feel. Glad things worked out for you. I'm going to ask my dealer about the red SE Injectors and see what they have to say. Hell, I might already have them (being a CVO SE and all). Can you tell any difference in your gas milage?
Have a Merry Christmas. Bet you get to ride and I don't[:@]
My 06 Road King had the SE big bore kit with cams installed before I took delivery. The bike was sneezing, popping thru the intake and stalling when cold. This was also with the HD download.
The factory sent a set of the CVO injectors to replace the stock ones. The bike runs great! Took it out Christmas eve for a little 75 mile run. Everything seems fine thru the gears and at idle.
According to my work order, the part # is 27709-06 at .....yipes...$91.00 apiece
