Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and it look like a great place to meet other Harley riders. I have a question about wheels bearing and was wondering if anyone had any infomation on them. I am installing chrome 9 spoke wheel on my 2002 road king classic. Does anyone know what the sealed bearing number is. I would like to install the bearings myself, have a place to purchase them but can't find the SKF number for them. any help would be appreicated.
OK, HERES WHAT YOU DO. GO TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER. GO TO THE PARTS BOOK AND GET A BREAKDOWN OF THE NEW WHEEL AND FIND THE PART # FOR THE BEARING. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND IT WITH THE INSTRUCTION SHEET THAT CAME WITH THE WHEEL OR FIND IT IN THE PARTS MANUAL FOR THE WHEEL. IF ALL ELSE FAILS, USE AN 02 PARTS MANUSL. THE BEARING WILL BE THE SAME. ACCORDING TO MY O3 MANUAL YOU WILL NEED 2 SEALED BEARING, P/N9247AND A HUB ASSEMBLY BEARING P/N40988-00. THIS IS FRONT WHEELTHE REA WHEEL IS ALSO 2 BEARINGS,P/N9247BUT THE HUB ASSEMBLY BEARING IS 41053-02. DOESNT MATTER IF WHEEL IS LACED OR STEEL SPOKES. HOPE THIS HELPS
