Default Dented leather panniers

Guys - I got sold a Harley rear backrest with rack by my dealer which has fairly sharp chevrons on the side of the rack frame - After a day of use I realised these had dented the leather top of the RKC panniers during normal opening - not deep but because the pannier lids move around the dented area covers about 2 inches of the lids and looks like acne - anyone successfully taken on dent removal/improvement (gentle heat / acid / JB weld?) - its one thing to have a worn-in look but another to have a pristine pannier ruined by bad design..

This is the reason that I bought the rack in the link below rather than the one that attaches to the back rest.

I took mine off for these reason, you can buy small HD metal stick ons of all types to replace them with as to cover up the two small holes left by the V's, I took my old collar dogs off of my military uniform, the pins fit perfect and the i filled in the space in the hole between the pin and the sides with JB cold weld. been like that for about a year now and 18000 km. still no issues and they are both still there

Oneshotdog - I dont need to fix the rack with the chevrons - cured that by giving it away.. didn't really think I would hear anyone get in a JB weld line tho'

Owe you a beer Oneshotdog - went round to my mates and reclaimed the rack (he wasn't going to use it anyhow) - took the chevrons off (which of course I had not known were screwed on - I thought they were cast) and tried it - no dents - tell HD marketing and claim a reward
