I have an 06 Street Glide with an Super Premium Cooler 62895-03A. My question is does it have a thermostat or not? I have done some research and have not had a clear answer. This oil cooler was put on EG CVO and no cover or bra was offered! So I would think it has one...My other question is if it has no thermostat do I need to cover it in the winter? Thanks
Just my my feeling, you need a thermo for cold weather driving. You need a thermo even in warm weather so the bike will get to the correct operating temp faster. I don't know if your cooler has thermostat or not.
Yeah, it does. I have the same unit. It was standard on the CVO Ultras, but with the SE emblem on them. It is has been discontinued.
You get to the stat by removing a allen-head cap screw at the front of the filter mount, but the downtube gets in the way so it's not real easy.
I think it opens at 175* F. No need to cover the cooler in the winter.
