Check it YOURSELF it's YOUR bike and SAFETY!!!!!!
If you don't have the mechanical aptitude,
Get a buddy over to help you that does.
Take a non credit course at a junior college. But at any rate LEARN your bike.
Buy a service manual and a lift.
Sears, napa, harborfreight. Sell the jacks and others too.
Buy some primary oil , normally one quart is enough.
A new gasket. Mine I use the old one over, I apply permatex high tack to primary
case before I put cover back on.
Put bike on lift, tie it down, put block under rear tire to support it.
Remove front tire, take to a different shop and have it spun on a balancer.
check for proper balance weights, watch tire closely for up and down bounce.
watch tire closely for the tread to shift sideways indicating a slipped belt.

Do same for rear tire. also check rear pulley is tight.

Primary, drain, and remove cover.
Verify the compensator is mounted correctly and tight.
Verify the primary case bolts are all tight to tranny and engine case.
re-install the cover and refill.

check tightness of all four engine and tranny connecting bolts.

Pull end caps off of swing arm thru-shaft.
Check bolt tightness. pry against the assembly and look for excess play.
Pry against tranny (up / down) for excess play on the swing arms mounts and
shaft.

Also pry against the front enginemount look for loose bolts and rubber (I know dealer replaced it, but check it yourself).
Did dealer also check the upper mount for tightness and CRACKS! Check it your self.

I have owned the bike since new. The Harley dealer has done all the checks so far. I've asked the same questions and I've been told they have been checked and are all correct. I will have them double check again.

Thanks for the information and I'll make a post once the cause has been found.

I am glad to here it not just me. Harley fix my broken pipe and broken motor mount. My bike is jump all over since they fix the bike. It runs good but it is just a jumping bean. I try to run it hard to if it was still ok. It is just going to jump around till it get worn in.

At my last service the Y fitting was replaced and they had to remove the exhaust to change it out. I noticed then that the vibration had gotten stronger. I'll check the exhaust.
THanks,
HH

ChooChoo, I have checked most of the items you talked about myself. That's why I have it back at the dealer. I haven't been able to find anything and wanted someone else to check it again. However, you have brought up a couple items that I have not checked yet and that I will do.

Thanks,
HH

I had my front mount replaced at about 6 mos and when i picked bike up i could not believe how much MORE it shook. It constantly breaks fairing mounts. My dealers reply to everything is 'its just a Harley'. They dont want to check anything just fix what is broken. It is very discouraging.

My 06 RK had a similar issue when I picked it up new. It shook all over the place, I took it back and it never really was right. Then I got a service manual and read about the timing and how the bike retards it a bit when it gets hot (like sittign in traffic etc.). I took it to another dealer (they ultimately did my motor work for the 103 kit and race tuner) and asked about it. The mechanic said to me "oh another one of those...." He took it in the back and fixed it in about 10 minutes.

Later they put in my 103 kit and it has been perfect.... For what I understand the HD computer will look at the temp of the oil and start to retard the timing to run rich when it hits a certain temp, then at another temp (higher still) it will retard it even more. A blip of the the throttle will set it back to normal. My issue was that the temp was set to retard at 50 degrees F....

Hope this helps.

You need to find a new dealer. HD dealers vary so much. There are 3 in a 25 mile radius of me and 1 of them is great, one can barly change oil, and the other is good but don't have a dyno so they can't tune that well.

Yep, the good old new and improved motor mount. I too, put the friggin thing in upside down. Only took a test ride to realize it. Corrected the mount, lightly tightened. You don't want to really cinch it down, as that will certainly increase vibration. She's much better now, but still more vibration than with the old, unimproved mount.[:-]

Along with a couple other things others have mentioned so I didn't.
Time to go to a different dealer.
What "y" fitting are you talking about? On the exhaust?
Under it on left side is a clamp / mount to the tranny / starter check it too.
