Any one know where I can get a lower windshiled for my street glide lower than the stock and darker? Ive seen a bunch of stret glides and even though the windshiled is now useless i like that low look. If any one can help Id appreciate it.
I bet you could have one made really cheap. Use your as a template and draw the new height out on some poster board. Take it to a plastics shop and they can cut it out for you. We have a place in Portland called TAP Plastics. They can definitely do that stuff.
You could also just buy a piece of dark tint Lexan from them and cut your own. I used a Rotozip to cut down my old RKC windshield. It worked pretty good.
Heres a couple of e-bay links. I have a 4in flattop from http://shop.sinstatecycle.com/produc...mp;productId=8 on e-bay a few months back, but they are not listing there right now. Cool people to deal with at sinstate and fastaire. The 4in from baggersonly looks cool too.
You can email tkcain1@msn.com. He makes quality, custom shields at reasonable prices. He also backs up his shields with great customer service! Tell him Rich B. sent you. Good luck!
I haven't seen anyone sell a 2" windshield so I cut one myself. It's real easy. Just pick up a piece of tinted or black Lexan from a glass shop. (about 10-15 bucks) Trace your stock one and cut the top 2" lower with a bandsaw or jigsaw. Just remember to put protective tape on both side and sand smooth. To tell you the truth though if you think you have buffeting now...................[sm=nerd.gif]
I would buy one of the 4" ones from ebay and then you only would need to cut the top down, no messing with cutting the mounting screws out. You can use your current windshield to keep the same radius.
I would try E-Bay. I got mine from the moco when I bought the bike but it is already starting to get streaks on it. Like the finish is coming off. Looks good but the piece of crap is falling apart! lol
