CENTRAL TEXAS HARLEY DAVIDSON - BEWARE
They wouldn't honor my battery that was still under warranty and had been bought at a different HD dealership, so I figure screw em. I don't need them anyway.
We have 6 or 7 HD dealerships across the valley to choose from. Not to mention all the independents that have gone to MMI here in phoenix.
I'll just go to the one I feel comfortable with, that's about 15 miles further away, but a decent ride
If you're ever in Phoenix and need a good independent try Ramjet Racingon cave creek road.
Good mechanic, lower rates than HD dealership, and they don't bill me for as much as they can,and they have stuff for your bike

They're a couple blocks up from Buddy Stubbs harley davidson.
Quaid had the bike I wanted buthammered me for EVERY NICKEL. The bike didn't have a lot of xtras (Factory Security, Lojack and Crimson Red Sunglow paint). The tag on the bike was way overpriced at$25,795.00. It took me three days of negotiatingto get it down to 23K. (which I still wasn't happy with... but was crunched for time)
I love the bike, but didn't enjoy the purchasing experience. I have bought several new vehicles over the years and have never lefta dealership with a bad taste in my mouth... I was hoping my first Harley purchase was going to be enjoyable. It wasn't. It was a grind from start to finish... but I guessthat's business.
By the way... I didn't get a single freebe at purchase. Not a t-shirt... not a hat... not even a keychain.
I did get a t-shirt at my 1k service that cost me $340.00.
Quaid squeezed every penny into the purchase... that's good because nowPamona Valley HD gets all of my parts, service and accessory purchases. (They have a way better parts department)
I would LOVE to hear from more sales, service and partsguys and their stories about what jerks some customers are......... I have seen customers act as complete jerks, I was evenembarrassedby them while I was in the dealership minding my own business
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I bought this POS bike on 11/02/07. It was brand new, in fact, they took it out of the packing crate and made it ready for me that day. Got exactly what I wanted was happy as a pig in **** when I left the dealership.
The next day was a different story. As I was riding the bike I was noticing that after I sat at a red light for a couple of minutes, when I would take off, the bike would knock and ping and acted like I was trying to start off in third gear (no power). In addition to this the throttle response was crap as well. Not a big deal, figured I would take it back to service let them look at it as it was probably some easy adjustment problem. I dropped it off on Sunday and was told it would be looked at first thing Monday morning. Now keep in mind this is a 2008 Ultra with 150 miles on it that I just paid $25000.00 for the week before.
On Tuesday I called the service department because I had not heard from anybody and I was told the bike was ready. I inquired as to what was done to the bike and was advised ânothingâ. I was told they could not find anything wrong. At this point I blew a gasket. I have on been riding for 30 years have owned 10 harleys and I know there was something wrong with that bike. Now I felt like they were trying to cover something up. So I requested a meeting with Mr. Hance Smith ( the CTHD harley super guru) the service manager (Joe) the owner of the dealership and the Sales manager.
I was refused a meeting with the owner and only Super Hance and Joe (Mr. 20+ years exp.) the service manager.
There was a bunch of talking out of both sides of their mouth, a bunch of crawfishing and a bunch of BS but the end result was that they had their âAâ tech ride and look at the bike and JOE had rode and looked at the bike and they could find nothing wrong. At this point I told them I just wanted to cancel the whole sale and give them their POS back. Hance started his verbal judo and un-sincere customer service babble and requested that I take the bike and if there was still a problem to bring it to him and let him ride the bike. I agreed and took the bike that afternoon. I rode the bike for 17 miles, turned around and took it right back when it almost died on me at a highway intersection that nearly got me run over. I went right to Hance Smith threw him the keys and told him to get after it.
Hance got on the bike and before he rode 5 feet the tranny sounded like it was going fall out and the bike nearly died on him. At this point they HAD to admit their was a problem. So I left the bike again and two more day later I received a call from Joe stating that there were defective gears in the tranny and that they had ordered the new parts. This enraged me as now, I was going to have a 25000.00 bike with less than 200 miles on it with a REBUILT tranny. Completely UNACCEPTABLE! And if there are any of you out there that think that would be acceptable to you, then I suggest you grow a pair and stop living your life like doormat!
[font="times new roman"][size=3]So I demanded another meeting with the same people and AGAIN I was refused access to the owner. They did have a rep from Harley (David Gray) in town during this time but he certainly was not there âjust to look at my bike as was implied by double talking Hance Smith.) Mr. Gray was just as much an imbecile as Hance a
