Whatever you do, be sure to get uninsured/underinsured coverage, an awful lot of people are driving with just minimal coverage that may not cover all your expenses if you are hurt. Don't ask me how I know.
Another vote for Bike-Line! Actually, it's Markel insurance. I have them for many years and the rates never went above $400 a year! I also had a claim earlier this year, and they never raised my rates!
Regarding uninsured and under insured coverage, we in Arizona only need these coverages on "ONE" policy! Either on an auto or motorcycle. I chose to have these coverages on my auto policy instead of the motorcycle. Because it's cheaper! In AZ, these coverages follow the "person" not the "policy!" Not sure what other states have in their laws regarding these.
I have State Farm for everything EXCEPT my bike.
Geico was $500.00/year cheaper than State Farm and I have been with SF for 20 years.
I have a 2008 Ultra and pay 450.00/year for full coverage with a $200.00 ded.
I have been very satisfied with BikeLine. For identical coverage, their premium was less than half of what Progressive wanted to charge me, even tho I had been a Progressive customer for over 20 years with no claims. I'll never consider Progressive again....for any type of insurance.
