happy holidays to every body any how i mgetting the working manaul for my bike so i can do alot of my work my self what tools do i need to tneed for the basic maintace such as belt adjustment and the like also how long the battery last on average my other tours i used to change out evert 2 years thanks for a ny info
Battery - I changed out my battery on my '01 last summer as a PM before a extended ride vacation... The HD battery shoud last on a AVG 4 - 5 years if maintained properly...
Tools - Basic set of STD & MET wrenches & sockets... A good set of screwdrivers - A belt gauage (HD has them) - spark plug gaping tool would be a good starter
I carry the following on my self collected tool kit....
* Tie wraps many different sizes, small mag lite, standard craftsman wrench set, allen set, torx set, 3/8 rachet compact, pliers, wire cutters, knife, phillips & flat head screwdrives with what I have if I am ever stranded I could get by.
