How do you like the fit between the outter and inner fairing? Your thought are the same as mine on the new dragonfly, and the Dead Center just has too much dash space. Let us know how the paint turns out on it.
I must say I was quite impresed with this product. There is a rubber trim piece that goes around the inner from the windshield down(almost like a gasket between the two). The inner has two bolts on the bottom and three along the windshield. Aside from fitting real close to my extended headlight cover I am pleased with the way it fits and looks. It was interesting that theirs was primered vs. gelcoat.
I chose not to have it painted because they offered solid color and I'll be two toning. I didn'twant lead paint either (just kidding) Currently it is too cold out in the garage to do much and I am trying to decide on striping to break up the black/silver as anniversary tape is not available. Paint won't be done till after the holidays.
The wiring comes out of the fairing to a twist plugwith one halfto be mounted to the frame. (so if the fairing is off the wiring goes with the fairing rather than staying with the bike.) The lock is not the same as DCC but does a similar job of helping secure the fairing. I tried mounting my windshield bag which sits on a J&P cycles bracket that had raised it above the tach and I think I'll use this set up as the bag is bigger than the two or three style ones that are meant for a fairing.
I am now going stereo shopping (with my riding gloves on) to find the CD stereo I want to use. Hopefully Santa is reading this and will bring it. I may add 1' tweeters and 12v acc. holes before it heads to the painter.
I was a tad leary at first because I had trouble communicating with Firebagger. I think they were just getting set up. Furthermore they listed no address or phone, everything was via email. I figured I would use a credit card and if anything went wrong they could fight it out but the whole deal went smooth. When the order was processed and shipped it took 4 days from HK to MA via DHL. The unit came in a fiberglass box (that I will use to hold straps on my car trailer) and handle the trip with absolutely no damage. It was a healthy 3 1/2 weeks but defenately worth the wait.
