Terry

I got a '07 RK Classic. First mod I did afetr bringing home, after changing the seat to a Mustang, was install RH TDs, an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner, and a PC III. Did all in 1/2 a day. All easy installs and plenty of tips here, do a search for each, for any help. Save the money, do it yourself and you'll soon begin transforming from a woodworker to a metal worker.

I have never had a dealer/indy do any mods, do them all myself even if I never did it before. Read, Ask, do, learn! ...o.k., and sometimes redo (hey, chit does happen sometimes).

You'll be riding taller in the saddle when you know evrything under you you had a wrench on.

Go for it and ride on!

As for the dyno, probably never a bad idea. I never did though. I kept tweakin PCIII map until bike hummed at the rpm ranges I like. Will dyno someday when I got the cash to drop. Did definitely see a jump in HP TQ, after mods, just can't quantify how much without dyno.

Im not a wrench either but im learning to do my own work. After getting my bike back with the head stripped out on a clutch cover screw and fairing bolts that were loose I figure I can do better.Installed pipes, aircleaner and fuel management system myself-labor savings paid for table lift.Buy a HD service manual and parts manual for your bike and you can do it.Parts manual is great because it shows how everything goes together. Also makes it easyer to order parts online.
