So I'm getting some 16" apes next week, and yes I could cut/solder to run the wires internally, but I think I'd rather buy some pre-fabbed +8' wires with the Deutsch ends already crimped...anyone know where I can buy them?
I bought them from a dealer on ebay much cheaper than J&P. Just do a search on the connectors. I used the purple connectors since they are weatherproof to make up a wiring harness for the lights on a detachable tour pak on my King. They have various combinations of pin numbers. I used the crimp style wire pins (male & female) but I soldered the wire into the barrel of the pins. The crimping tool is very expensive and if you can solder well, it will be fine. The connectors really are easy to work with compared to some others.
thanks i found them as you were replying...i think i'll just go with JP, yeah i could say a couple bucks but i don't want to start cutting wires...in my mind i'll make up the $ since i'm doing the install myself anyway...
ah can't wait to take of the exhaust to get to the tranny to hook up the clutch cable...it's really not a hard job, did it on my heritage a few years ago, it's just a pain in the *** having to take crap apart just to get to things...besides it keeps me outa trouble....gotta love it!!!
