And I am very VERY VERY paranoid at intersections!
Obviously the more protection one is wearing, the better their chances of avoiding injury should something bad happens. If you want to take it to the logical end, it doesn't make any sense to ride anything smaller than a large automobile. So everyone needs to weigh the risk and make the personal choices.
Myself, I wear a helmet a lot, not a full face, I don't own one of those. I love riding in T shirts and jeans in the hot weather. I don't always wear boots. When I ride up into NH I see at least 50% of my riding brethren don't wear helmets. It's up to them.
PS this video has been all over the internet for months. The car ran the redlight, and the scooter guy went into the intersection without even slowing down, the worst of the worst all the way around. Having the green is only on factor in the decision to move through an intersection.
