It's already the case in several states. They are just catching up with the times. It doesn't apply to motorcycles only. In some states if you're in a car and the same thing happens you just treat the light like a stop sign, after a reasonable amount of time. Usually 2 cycles of the light.

Hmmm that's interesting, I've never had the sensor not work for me, does that happen a lot in some areas ?

We have a few traffic lites that are so long they could make you think they were not working though.

We've had that here in SC for several yrs. We have to wait for 2 minutes, then you can legally proceed through the red light.

In NC they gave that to us a couple of years ago, and I need it. Everyday on the way to work, if the light on 96 doesn't change within 10 seconds, its not going to.

Of course I always approach such lights as non-functioning and treat them like stop signs since I've been driving anyway. That rule has been around forever.

In CT. we have also have the right to turn right on a red light but I've sat through a lot of green lights waiting for cars to stop running the red light on their side. LEO? He does it also. Far as I'm concerned all lights are red for me.

Ive never heard of this law before and I think its a pretty damn good idea.Believe or nor where I live in south Jersey its pretty much still country and there is one light in mind right down the street that have waited for a least 6 min.before being aggravated enough to go thru it.Lucky for me the SS patrol missed me.

If i have a choice between my bike overheating or running a red light, guess what I choose. There is one light i go through every night and after 10 pm it will never change unless there is a car in the lane next to me. I take a left at this light and it is a very un traveled road at that time of night. Lets hope the Commies here in Mass smarten up.
