Not sure about the Rivco kit but the HD kit is great. Lowers on and off in about 6 minutes.

It is not so much taking them off that is hard it's putting them back on with the stock equip that sucks imo What is going to scratch? I think with the tools your more likely to cause scratches. With the kit there is like 3 pieces for each side and you use your hands to tighten and untighten. As for theives they won't know how they are attached unless they pull the door off the glove box. If they really want your lowers they will bring tools and take em. If your so worried about thiefs what about your chrome accessories, gas caps, saddle bags without locks, detachable sissy bars, detachable windshields, Oil temp dipstick. etc.........................

I purchased mine with the intent that when i go to different bike weeks, and it is hot, i can remove them and put them in the storage bag that HD sells. Might be a couple of extra bucks, but i like some of HD's stuff. Just my opinion.

I'm trying to determine which of these quick detachfairing lower kits is better. Both are priced $89. Let me know your thoughts. Also, what are the small screws for that come with the Rivco kit?

Harley-Davidson

Rivco Products

I have tried both; neither are really quicker than just taking the stock off; only advantage is the ability to remove the lowers on the fly. I prefer the hardware of the HD kit over the Rivco. Hope that this helps.

For those physcally challenged or lazy[sm=smiley23.gif] its not just the time saved but looks like less kneeling,bending..ect. (HD kit still in box)

If you run the glove box liners, they are a pain to pull out to access the top bolts. With the Quick dis. they stay put & you bolt through the liner. I use the HD's
