Default Detachable Fairing Lower Kit

I'm trying to determine which of these quick detachfairing lower kits is better. Both are priced $89. Let me know your thoughts. Also, what are the small screws for that come with the Rivco kit?

Not sure about the Rivco kit but the HD kit is great. Lowers on and off in about 6 minutes.

I can take mine off and put them back on in under 10 minutes with a wrench, extension and the proper tools. Thiose kits are nice but expensive! If I was buying one I'd buy the HD kit and get it 20% off somewhere like CHicago HD or Zanottis

The small screws in the Rivco kit are for the caps on the lowers that are screwed on. If you have the vented lowers you would use the other kit from Rivco. The vented lowers have a different cap section that I think snaps on.

I have the Rivco kit for my 02 and it uses the screws. Kit is awesome. I can take both off in less than 10 minutes.

I've thought about this for some time, I just don't like anything with out a lock and Key!

They make lockable but more expensive to boot.

Additionally the chances for scraching up the paint is higher the more you mess with taking something on or off a bunch of times! Just my thought!

Well how long does it take to remove the lowers when they are stock? Just to see if it would really be worth it for a detachable kit.

No intent at flaming here....I swear it. But if you don't have 10 minutes to take off lowers (as stock)....how do you have time to do any riding? It takes 10 minutes or less to remove lowers without any q-d stuff.

Thats why I was asking they do not look to hard but I have not taken them off yet and really probably never will just because I do not want them to get scratched up. I swear I just breath on the bike and scratches appear.

When they figure out how to paint a bike like a washer and dryer count me in.

LOL...totally understand. I am not so freaked by incidental scratches....knowing that they are simply mileage scars. I do take care when working on (including removing stuff) so have been fortunate in that way. Lowers are VERY easy (and plenty quick) to remove. I can see spending hard earned cash for QD's for the tourpak...just never for the lowers (of course...that is only my opinion)

It may take the same amount of time to take them off without the kit, but, you don't need tools to remove them with the kit. To some that may not be a big deal, but, to me I don't bother lugging all those tools needed.
