Default Fork Lowering

I had the rear lowering shocks installed on my 08 UC when I bought it. I am considering installing the front fork lowering kit myself. Do I need special tools or can someone with reasonable wrench turning abilities do it?

This won't be that helpful but I remember cutting some PVC pipe for some reason.

2" PVC, that would have been for seating the new seals

If you have wrenching skills then it will be a piece of cake. One trick I did slide your new seal on then flip your old seal and slide it on top of the new one. Use a 1 ½ PVC coupling on top of the old seal and slide hammer the new seal into position. Works like a charm.

Thanks Dawg, that was it.

I remember having trouble re-filling them too. Some might want to give tips on that.

I installed the HD spring lowering kit on my 07 rkc. Piece of cake except for compressing the fork springs. You will need to come up with something for that, usually a combination of bench vise and floor jack. Or, you could spend $250+- for a special tool. Once it is all put together you will be happy with the ride, which is more than I can say about the shorter air shocks (sucks).
