I've heard a lot of talk about the Brimbo brakes and I don't understand what the excitement is all about. At any time from 10 to 100 mph I can lock up the front or rear wheel on my 06 Ultra. Yes the abs would be nice at times, but I don't want any better brakes than what I got. I can get in trouble any time when I put too much power to them. Just my $ .02 Dan
You answered your own question. Less power for more brakes with brembo.
ahhhh I don't understand what you are saying.
my roadglide can lock up easy. I wish I would have got the abs.
But without ABS, I'd kind of like a less powerfull brake, my homebuilt bobber has old single piston calipars andI have to squeeze hard to get them to lock. I like it that way.
I'm glad dgriffith is happy with his brakes. Personally, if I could add a good ABS system to my bike I would gladly do so. Many people drove cars for years without ABS and didn't have problems; but I'm glad they are pretty much standard equipment today.
As for whether the non-ABS Bembro brake system is better than the system it replaced, I would be interested to readabout it.

Start with riding lessons. If you don't get it, you're in need.
there is a lot more to brakes than the ability to grab a handfull and lock them up. better systems, even just better pads like lyndall offer more feedback and less pressure required.
I sort of know what your talking about. At the end of the day brakes are those things that keep me from going thru the garage door People are excited about there new toys and rightly so.
I think the abs would be nice for shure. Only know how they feel in a car, especiallyon rain, ice and snow. they sometimes can take a little gettin use to imo(for a car) but sort of let you put yourmind at easeand relax and enjoy the road.
I practice fast stops regularly. Can lock up the rear wheel with little effort for which the ABS would be of great benefit. I have yet been able to lock up the front on good dry pavement at speed. Would love to have ABSfor when thoseconditons do not exist.
Are the Brimbo brakes better as far as not heating up and fading? I have not had any problems with the stock setup on the Ultra and have done quite a few miles in mountains were you need a lot of brake.
