A friend of mine bought me an early Christmas present for my 08 EGC. I installed as it was supposed to be but it malfunctioned. I then took the part to my local stealership and asked if they could help me out and possibly exchange out the part. After spending over 3000.00 in accessories with them and 22k on a new EGC I would have thought they would have taken with no problem.
They didn't and told me to get with my buddy and have him exchange it out. In other words I have to ship it back to him in Indiana.....
Should I go ahead and be a butt and basically not leave any more money with them on future prices or talk to someone in charge there.
I will not mention the dealership however, I live in jacksonville Florida.
Thats too bad, I could see their point to some level, but they can handle it pretty easy. Would have to think about the future relationship, taking into account their total performance, i.e. service department, hot Harley clothing chicks and what not.
Just to tell you a little story. I bought my wife a helmet from a dealer about 2 hours away from my house. Well turns our she did not like it, so I went to my normal dealer and told them the story, they gladly exchanged it for the one she wanted. No big deal to them. I love my dealer, they have always treated me well. As with everything I question somethings they do or say to me about my bike but that's why I run it past this forum. So far they have been spot on, with what the tell me.
Let him know the issue with your friend livin out of town and how much patronage you give his business. Let him know it would a big help and these are the kind of things that keep you coming back to him.
Can't really blame him though if he doesn't, what's he gonna do with a bad part.
be nice and explane the whole deal. Your parts man should do you a favor as long as your not looking for a refund. Next stop would be management. Surprising how things can fall in place with the right attitude and contacts. Good luck Bob
If you don't get any satisfaction being nice, do like I do wait till the store gets nice and busy and then start mother f-en them on how you spent so much money there and they wont take care of you. Customers may look at you funny but you will get your way.
